Placement

How to Use Pad Placement Guide

Guide to Proper Pad Placement

Foot

Position the Pad on the back of the foot. Be sure the bottom edge of the Pad is applied to the bottom edge of the hoof wall and that the Pad is around the back half of the hoof wall.

Fetlock

Position the Pad on the desired location for the fetlock.

Foot and Fetlock

To treat the foot and fetlock simultaneously the optional foot/fetlock pad may be used. Position the bottom section around the back of the hoof with the bottom edge even with the bottom edge of the hoof wall. A piece of duct tape may be used to hold the lower edge in place. The upper wings are then wrapped around the fetlock from the back and secured in front with the tab.

Knee

Position the Pad on the desired location for the knee.

High Suspensory Tendon

Place the Pad lengthwise over the area of injury.

Shin

Place the Pad lengthwise over the area of injury.

Splint Bone

Place the pad lengthwise over the area of injury.

Hock

Position the Pad around the site of injury.

Neck or Shoulder

Attach a large pad or pads to a stretchable nylon or lycra neck cover/hood  or shoulder guard so the pad is in the desired position to cover the area to be treated. The position can be determined by putting the cover in place and then drawing on the outside an outline of the pad in position. Then sew the pad at the corners in the outlined position on the underside of the cover.
